Training Update

For those of you wonderful encouraging people who read my post last week, here's an update.
I did register for the half marathon, so I'm locked in. Scary. I was frightened to register, but I did it. I've paid my $35.
Secondly, I did another long run today. I ran 9 miles!!!
AND IT WAS AWESOME!
I didn't die.
I didn't think about dying.
I didn't even walk.
We jogged the whole time.
I went with Jenn Crouse (super star!) and we talked and had a great time.
We stopped only for an emergency bathroom break at the Colvin's house. Wow! I love those people even more now.
We stopped for Gatorade and the occasional stretch. But we just kept going! It was amazing! My time was much improved this week, and I went a mile further.
I feel encouraged.
Maybe I can actually do this.
Rusty ran early this morning, same route, with David Colvin, who is a veteran marathoner, and they did ridiculously well. His time was stunning. I love my man. I just told him, it's a good thing he can't sing, because otherwise we would all have to hate him. He would officially be good at everything.
Now, does anyone have any song suggestions for the ipod, and long-distance running? When I run by myself I need some motivating music, you know?
I like Kirk Franklin, Robbie Seay, of course...
anyone have any brilliant song ideas to add to my ipod?
Thanks!

Honestly, I have to have a beat when I am working out! Something to keep me going! I downloaded a little hip hop remix. Some "baby got back" - because I do not want to have "back" anymore! "Can't Touch this," Jock Jams and Audio Adrenalin. ALso anything I can sing too, Good Ol' George Strait, Jack O' Pearce, Casting Crowns, and Colbie Chalet!
Hope this helps! Love you!

Jenn (Crouse) told me about your run! She had so much fun. She is my dearest friend in the world. I'm glad you are spending time together.

[FYI - I would have loved that job. Seriously, DREAM job. What beautiful training for being a future mommy . . . your kids are great. I mean, you know that already, but I thought I'd say it anyway.]

Jenn, I'm so proud of you!!! I told Jess about your running the half and she said you'll do great! She just did her first half marathon two months pregnant!! She said if you can run six miles, you're golden! So...you've got this!!! I am so proud of you! :)

Way to go, Jenn! You'll be so proud of yourself when you complete the 1/2 Marathon! It's such an accomplishment!

Get this: I'm trying to talk Heather into doing one with me next fall, after baby #2. Charlie and I are going for the FULL next winter, so I figured it'd be good training...unless, of course, we're pregnant again or something!

Hey Jen. I am a little behind on your blog, but I am very impressed that you have time to train for a half marathon while having 4 children and homeschooling. Are you human? Anyway, I like to work out to angry-girl-rock like Avril, Kelly Clarkson, and Gwen. They get me pumped up, but their music is pretty pop that I can sing along with and harmonize to!
